Customer-facing, hands-on, and central to delivery. This is a practical role that keeps everything moving.
Applicants must be based within easy reach of the M4 Corridor, ideally between Bristol and Oxford.
This is an early-stage diagnostics company moving from research into real-world delivery. The technology is already in use by academic and clinical customers, and now the focus is on growing operations and building the customer function. This role is about supporting that journey.
This is not about new business or lead generation. This is about managing the customer process once someone wants to come on board. You will help send quotes, set up accounts, track orders, and respond to queries. If you enjoy helping things run smoothly and like the idea of building process from the ground up, this may suit you well.
Act as the main point of contact for academic and clinical customers once they are engaged
Manage inbound enquiries and ensure they are recorded and progressed using the CRM
Prepare and follow up quotes, coordinating with internal teams as needed
Handle onboarding documents, purchase orders, forms, and supplier information
Coordinate with distributors and logistics providers to ensure accurate and timely delivery
Flag patterns or issues early (for example, repeat queries or recurring product concerns)
Maintain basic reporting on pipeline, fulfilment, and customer interactions
Support the operational side of research studies and pilot projects
Essential:
Experience in customer support, sales coordination or account administration
Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities
Confident communicator, both in writing and in person
Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
Process-oriented with good attention to detail
Based within the M4 Corridor with the ability to travel to Bristol and Oxford regularly
Desirable:
Experience preparing quotes, handling orders, or managing documents
Background in diagnostics, research, or scientific supply chain
Knowledge of academic procurement
Competent in Excel or similar tools
Any additional language skills
You take ownership and follow things through
You work well independently but are happy to ask questions
You like improving systems and organising work
You are dependable and professional in dealing with both customers and colleagues
This is a small and growing business founded by a team of researchers and entrepreneurs. The company operates remotely but you will need to attend in-person team meetings in Oxford and Bristol and these may become more regular as the organisation grows. The focus is on delivering high-quality service and building the infrastructure for scale. You will be part of a close-knit team working on something with long-term impact.
