Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small, expert team focused on the design and manufacture of bespoke electro-mechanical interconnection products. This is a hands-on and varied role within a low-volume, high-quality manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create 3D CAD designs using Autodesk Inventor and produce detailed drawings in line with BS8888
• Provide technical input from concept development through to tooling and production
• Support engineering change control and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and production teams

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years' experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical design, ideally within a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in electro-component design and application
• Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software)
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining, moulding, plating)
• Familiarity with BS8888, ISO 9001 standards, and change control procedures
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Advantageous: experience with cable assemblies, fibre optics, and basic electrical principles
• A full UK driving licence is essential
